Whew, what a year 2018 was! We've been busy busy, not subtracting many projects in our lives but continuing to add and increase our scope of interests and goals.
When I (Michael) think back to late 2017, it feels not one year ago, but three or four. We continue to grow; emotionally, capacity-wise, in our skills, in our life goals, in our communication, in our philosophies and levels of patience for collaborative organizing and learning.
There are several notable events and accomplishments that come to mind when thinking of 2018.
Increased involvement with Permaculture Action Network. Joana and I have continued to be involved with this wonderful project and group of people from all over the USA, improving our community organizing skills and building our knowledge of social and environmental justice issues. Contributing in as much capacity as we can to a project well beyond the scope of our (in many, many ways) privileged lives is a goal of ours we hold dear to our hearts. We are all human beings and need to support each other selflessly!!
I feel that 2019 is bound to be a year of abundance and clarity. While I still oftentimes feel alone and lost in this unconventional path in the 21st century, I find comfort in knowing that we are intentionally surrounding ourselves with quality, caring, loving people that we call our community. We hope that this group grows in 2019 and are opening ourselves to this possibility.
May it be a good year!! I do hope to have a bit more time to put towards Hands On Earth social media and website and such but it sure is hard to prioritize this project over building our home or making the money we need to do so. Eventually, all in time, with a breath of patience....
